Vol. 32 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Relief of Congestion in Headford District, Co. Galway.

Tomás Mac Giolla Phóil

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if, in view of the acute congestion existing in the Headford district of Co. Galway, and the scarcity of untenanted lands suitable for relief, he will consider the question of having the Irish Land Commission acquire for distribution the lands of Cordarragh, held by Mrs. Maria Ward (formerly Miss Annie Lydon estate).

As the Deputy has already been informed, the lands referred to appear to be 52 acres of the lands of Cordarragh, Poor Law Valuation £18 12s., occupied by Mrs. Maria Ward. The Land Commission do not propose to take any action at present regarding the acquisition of these lands.
