Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Administration of Unemployment Insurance.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to state the total cost of administering the Unemployment Insurance Acts, showing the amounts borne by the various Votes.

The total cost of administering the Unemployment Insurance Acts for the financial year 1928-29 was £138,340, which is made up as follows:—Unemployment Insurance (Vote No. 60), £93,873; National Health Insurance (Vote 43), £14,967; Industry and Commerce (Vote 56), £9,825; Rates on Government Property (Vote 17), £698; Public Works and Buildings (Vote 11), £4,205; Stationery and Printing (Vote 22), £1,061; Superannuation and Retired Allowances (Vote 16), £1,201; Post Office (Vote 62), £12,510.

In respect of this expenditure, £115,239 was recovered from the Unemployment Fund and appropriated in aid of the Vote for Unemployment Insurance. That is all in the Estimates.
