asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can state in the case of men employed by the Department in an advisory or technical capacity, or by colleges under the Department in a teaching capacity, or by county committees of agriculture in an advisory, technical or teaching capacity with the sanction of the Department, the number of such men who have no diploma from the College of Science, or agricultural degree from University College, Dublin.

Of the general technical staff of the Department five agricultural inspectors and two junior agricultural inspectors do not possess the diploma or degree referred to, but were appointed on account of their specialised knowledge of the work to which their duties appertain.

All itinerant instructors in agriculture and all persons engaged in the teaching of general agriculture at the schools conducted by, or aided from, the Department's funds, possess the diploma or degree.
