Vol. 34 No. 6

Written Answers. - Congestion in Mayo (Livesay Estate).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that acute congestion exists on the Livesay Estate, Clonbur; that there are over fifty tenants whose valuations are under £5 each, and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire the grazing ranch held by Captain Hodgson, for the purpose of relieving the existing congestion.

The Land Commission are aware of the congestion existing on the Livesay Estate. The question of the acquisition of the untenanted lands of Kilbride, the property of Captain Hodgson, is under consideration in connection with other lands on the Hodgson Estate.
