Vol. 35 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sea Wall at Ballinskelligs.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether in view of the fact that the work of repairing the sea wall to protect the burial-ground at the Abbey, Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry, has not yet been commenced, and that sanction to defray the cost thereof was given to the Kerry Board of Health on 16th April, 1929, he will take the necessary steps to ensure that the Board of Health will carry out the work immediately.

A loan for this work was sanctioned on the 16th April, 1929. I understand a tender was accepted on the 28th October, 1929. Inquiry will be made from the Board of Health as to how the matter stands. I would, however, remind the Deputy that in matters of these kinds, resting on local initiative, it would be open to him to communicate with the Board of Health.
