Vol. 36 No. 7

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Nenagh Estate.

Mr. Sheehy

(Tipperary) asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what is the reason for delay in the division of the Norris Estate, Traverstown, Nenagh; if he is aware that this estate is acquired for a considerable time and set for grazing and meadowing, and if he will state what it realised for the year 1929-30, and what profits, if any, have the Irish Land Commission in the working of said lands.

The scheme for the division of the Norris Estate at Traverstown, Nenagh, is in course of preparation and it is anticipated that it will be completed at an early date. The Land Commission have not made a profit in the management of these lands.

Mr. Sheehy

Would the Parliamentary Secretary state what time this estate will be divided, as there is great dissatisfaction regarding the setting of this land to large farmers?

A scheme is being prepared at the moment, but I could not say when the land will be divided. I presume it will be distributed some time next year.
