D'fhiafruigh

den Aire Puist agus Telegrafa an bhfuil sé riachtanach go mbeadh gach duine a toghtar mar mháighistir ar Fho-Oifig Phuist sa Ghaeltacht in ann an Ghaedilg do léigheadh agus do scríobhadh go maith, agus an gcuirtear gach iarrathóir ar oifig den tsórd sin fá scrúdú agus, má cuirtear, cionnus a hainmnightear na scrúduightheoirí.

Sub-Postmasters in the Gaeltacht are selected from candidates with a good knowledge of written and oral Irish when such candidates are available and are suitable in other respects for the position of Sub-Postmaster.

The Irish qualifications of the candidates are tested by the Head Postmaster of the district, or by an officer from headquarters.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary state whether this rule applies definitely to Connemara?

And if the Postmaster of a district has not a good knowledge of Irish, how is he to examine the candidates?

As the answer states, the Irish qualifications of the candidates are tested by the Head Postmaster of the district or by an officer from headquarters.
