As was explained to the Deputy in reply to a question which he asked on the 17th April, 1929, the form in which the records of my Department are kept is such that the preparation of the information he desires would entail an amount of labour which would not, in my opinion, be justified.
Surely the Minister can state how much of this money remains to be repaid in South Sligo?
Not without a search in regard to that constituency.
Can the Minister give any indication as to when he hopes to be in a position to complete the repayment of this money to subscribers in South Sligo?
I could not tell the Deputy by what date absolutely all the money will have been repaid but within a few months very little will remain to be repaid.
Would the Minister indicate roughly the amount?
I was not asked for the amount for the whole country and I have not the figures.
I am sure the Minister is aware that some members of his Party have already stated publicly in South Sligo that this money was to be repaid as long ago as last October. In view of these statements, I think the Minister should be in a position to-day to give some information as to when the subscribers will receive payment.
That is quite impossible.
