Vol. 37 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Judicial Commissioner's Pension.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the services which have been rendered by the Judicial Commissioner of the Land Commission since he became entitled to his existing pension will entitle him to a further pension on his retirement from his present post, and, if so, on what scale will such pension be based.

The Judicial Commissioner of the Land Commission being a Judge of the High Court of Saorstát Eireann would be entitled to a pension on the scale laid down in Section 14 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1924, on his retirement from that office. I may say, however, that the judge in question has waived all claim to pension in respect of his present judicial office.
