Vol. 37 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Longford Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if and when the lands of Gouldsbury Murry Estate, Clonbrock, Killashee, Co. Longford, will be apportioned to the tenants thereon; if all the tenants have signed the agreement necessary to enable the work to be carried out by the Irish Land Commission; and, if the necessary formalities have been completed, will he direct that the divisions be completed at once.

The estates referred to by the Deputy appear to be those of W. Gouldsbury, J.D. Gouldsbury, M. J. Murray and C. Vance, which are being dealt with under the purchase provisions of the Land Acts 1923-9. The Land Commission propose to retain upon the Appointed Day all the holdings on these estates with a view to re-arranging them. It is expected the Appointed Day will be fixed and the Final List vesting the lands in the Land Commission published with in a few weeks. When this has been done a scheme of re-arrangement of the holdings will be prepared as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries when the Irish Land Commission propose taking over and distributing the lands known as Prospect, Rathbracken, Co. Longford, on the Reid Mackindoo Estate.

—A scheme for the division of the untenanted lands on the estate of Reid and Mackindoo, Co. Longford, has been settled and the Land Commission hope to be in a position to allot the lands at an early date.
