asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands on the De Freyne Estate, Frenchpark, and, if so, whether he can state the approximate date when these lands will be acquired and subdivided.

The untenanted lands on the De Freyne estate, comprising an area of 314a. 1r. 7p. (of which an area of 174a. 1r. 5p. is water), situate in the townlands of Derreenamackaun, Tully, Errith and Gortaganny, Co. Roscommon, are being acquired by the Land Commission.

The Land Commission are retaining three tenanted holdings in the townlands of Derreenamackaun and Lecarrow, the tenants' objections having been disallowed. The appointed day for the tenanted lands will be fixed at an early date, when the Land Commission will take the necessary steps with a view to obtaining an order authorising the resumption of the holdings.

At the present stage of the proceedings the Land Commission are not in a position to state when these lands will be divided.
