Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income Tax.
I would refer the Deputy to my replies to his questions of 18th March last and of 30th April, 1930. The required statistics are not available, and could not be compiled without considerable expense and without diverting the Revenue staff from the main work of the assessment and collection of tax.
Do I understand that there is no record in the Minister's Office as to the number of people from whom returns for income tax purposes are required?
No; it is by amounts the statistics are kept.
So there is no check?
Checks are innumerable.
