Vol. 39 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Railway Wages Board.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will lay on the Table of the House a copy of the findings of the Railway Wages Board.

As the Irish Railway Wages Board is an independent body, its awards are not furnished to any Government Department.

If according to the Act the House has no alternative but to accept the verdict of the Railway Wages Board, provided it is agreed to by the representatives of the workers concerned, is there any way in which the House can see what these findings are?

Plenty of ways, but not the one the Deputy suggests.

Would the Minister say how they can be seen?

The Deputy will have to use his head.

I asked this for the reason that persons concerned are anxious to get details of the findings.

The people concerned can get them through their trade unions.

Is the Minister further aware that one of the reasons why it is requested is because it has been stated that of the four representatives of Labour concerned, two signed the agreement and two refused?

Ask Deputy Davin about it.
