Vol. 40 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Drumm Battery.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce to state if he still confirms the success of the Drumm Battery and to what causes he attributes the delay in the running of the experimental train between Dublin and Bray.

The claims made for the battery are being confirmed by experience and are not affected by the slow delivery of parts and equipment for the coaches in which it is to be used.

When does the Minister hope to make a definite statement as to the position of the Drumm Battery?

I cannot say when.

Can the Minister say how long he expects these delays to occur with regard to the delivery of the parts?

I did not say that there has been any delay yet.

Is the Minister not aware that the public have been expecting tests of this battery?

The public may have been misled by people who speak without authority.

Was the Minister for Justice speaking without authority when he made certain statements in Mayo on 11th August?

I cannot say until I see what he said.

Will the Minister promise to look up the "Western People" or the "Mayo News" of August 16th?

I have not time to read these papers.
