The provision of extra half-acre plots for tenants of labourers' cottages is a matter primarily for the rural sanitary authority, who possess the necessary statutory authority.

Is the Minister aware that if a local authority proposes to acquire land for this purpose, a delay of at least twelve or eighteen months will take place before the land can be acquired? Would the Minister be prepared to indicate to the House whether he would be in a position to do anything to expedite further the transfer of land for that purpose?
