Vol. 40 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Nenagh Estate

(Tipperary) asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state if an objection has been made to the acquisition of the estate of General Parker, Garrykennedy, Nenagh; and if he will state when the Land Commission will be in a position to acquire the above estate to relieve congestion which exists in that area.

It is not the present intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Garrykennedy on the etsate of General Parker.

Mr. Sheehy

Will the Parliamentary Secretary state why the Land Commission are not acquiring the lands?

First of all, the lands are subject to a Land Commission annuity; secondly, they are demesne lands, and thirdly, they are used for the breeding of pure-bred stock.
