Vol. 42 No. 12

Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous) Bill, 1932—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make further and better provision for the financial assistance of local authorities and others in the erection and reconstruction of dwellinghouses, to ensure the supply of building materials and appliances at reasonable prices, and for those and other purposes to amend the Housing of the Working Classes Acts, 1890 to 1931, the Labourers' Acts, 1883 to 1931, and the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1931, and to make provision for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.—(Minister for Local Government and Public Health.)
Bill read a First Time; Second Stage fixed for Thursday, 30th June.

When will these two measures be circulated?

I cannot say definitely when my Bill will be circulated, but I would like to give the House ample time to study it, and if it is not circulated in time I shall ask for a postponement of the Second Reading to a later date.

I hope to have the Army Pensions Bill circulated and in the hands of Deputies by the end of next week.

Before we go on to the Finance (Customs Duties) (No. 2) Bill, I want to ask what is the date to which the adjournment is to be made at the conclusion of to-day's sitting?

Until Tuesday, 28th June.

I presume that the House is not meeting on Wednesday of that week?
