Vol. 44 No. 9

Vote 1—Governor-General's Establishment.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £1,600 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1933, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Teaghlachas an tSeanascail (Uimh. 14 de 1923).

That a sum not exceeding £1,600 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1933, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Governor-General's Establishment (No. 14 of 1923).

Has the Minister yet got a person who will subject himself to insults to take this office?

The Deputy can raise that question on the Appropriation Bill.

I would like to have that simple question answered. Has the Minister yet got a person who will subject himself to insult by Ministers when he takes office?

Could the Deputy put that in another way?

Can the Minister hold out any hope that the cost under this head will be substantially reduced?

We hope so.

Vote put and agreed to.
