Vol. 45 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reduction of Dealers' Licence-Duty.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the present distress and the hardship inflicted on dealers in second-hand clothing and other commodities, he will introduce proposals for legislation having for its object the reduction of the licence duty payable by these dealers.

The Minister for Finance has nothing to add to the reply which he gave to the Deputy in answer to his question on this subject on the 14th June last.

Did the Minister take into consideration at all the first portion of my question relating to "the present distress and the hardship inflicted on dealers in second-hand clothing and other commodities"?

The Minister for Finance took everything into consideration when framing the answer which has been given to the Deputy.

Does the Parliamentary Secretary admit that these people are suffering greater hardship and distress at the moment than they were suffering at the time I originally put the question?
