Vol. 45 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that the holding held by Mr. Thomas Phillips at Cloonternane, Knock, Claremorris, on the Dillon Estate, was acquired by the Irish Land Commission for the relief of congestion over four years ago, that the holding is still unoccupied and if he will state why the lands are not being divided.

A scheme for the division of the Phillips holding at Cloonternane has been completed and arrangements will be made to put it into operation at an early date.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what steps are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to divide the lands known as Cuillane Farm (Rush Estate), Ballindine, County Mayo.

The scheme for the division of the lands of Cuillane has now been settled and will be put into operation at an early date.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that acute congestion exists on the Ward Estate, Kilscohagh, Crossboyne, Claremorris, and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken to divide the lands known as Gortanieran, which were retained for relief of congestion by the Irish Land Commission in 1925.

The Land Commissioners are in course of making application to the Judicial Commissioner for an Order authorising the resumption of part of the holding in the occupation of Mr. Mark Mellett, in the townlands of Gortanieran and Kilscohagh on the Ward Estate, Co. Mayo, for the purpose of relieving congestion in the vicinity.
