asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the owners or the names and the town or other district of location of each of the four new upholstery factories stated by him in his statement of the 13th January to have been opened since March, 1932.

Three of the upholstery establishments referred to are located in Dublin and the fourth is in Navan. I am not prepared to give the names of the owners until the position of each firm is examined in the light of the Control of Manufactures Act.
Can the Minister give any idea as to when that examination will be completed?
The examination is proceeding in respect of some of these firms. There is a necessity to investigate the position in the light of that examination, and I think it is undesirable that we should give this information until the information I have indicated is completed.
Is the idea that some of the firms may be closed down if they do not satisfy the Minister under the Control of Manufactures Act?
Some of these firms may be engaged in the manufacture illegally.
Even though the Minister has been boasting of them.
I have not been boasting of anything.
