asked the Minister for Education whether he can give the programme in English sanctioned for infants' classes in schools in which Irish is taught as a subject for an hour a day.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - English Programme in Infant Schools.
The programme of instruction in national schools does not contemplate the teaching of English as a subject in infants' classes and there is, consequently, no official programme for English in these classes.
Is there an official programme in these schools for any other subject?
Yes.
Would the Minister give us that programme?
I have sent a copy of the programme to the Deputy.
I am not aware that it has reached me so far but, perhaps, it is in the course of post.
I will have another copy sent to the Deputy.
