Vol. 48 No. 15

Vote 12—State Laboratory.

I move:

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £4,568 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1934, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí na Saotharlainne Stáit.

That a sum not exceeding £4,568 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1934, for the Salaries and Expenses of the State Laboratory.

This estimate provides for a State chemist at £725 to £900 a year. Could the Minister say if there is a State chemist and what is the position?

There is a State chemist. Professor Nolan is filling that position temporarily until we have an opportunity of considering the re-organisation of the State laboratory.

Vote agreed to.
