(Clare)(for Tadhg O Murchadha) asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the premises, business and plant of the Bandon Co-Operative Milling Company are advertised for sale on July 12th, and if not disposed of the plant will be sold as scrap, and whether in view of the fact that the mills and plant were in first-class condition and the whole undertaking in a prosperous condition prior to the death of the owner, the Department will endeavour to save the plant from being scrapped.

I am aware that the premises and plant of the Bandon Co-Operative Milling Company are for sale, and I am prepared to consider very carefully and sympathetically any suggestions made to keep the mill working in Bandon. Until some proposal is before me, I am not in a position to take any action.
