Written Answers. - Old Age Pension Claims (Mayo).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that the Ballindine sub-committee recommended an old age pension of 10/- per week to Mrs. Catherine Walsh, Cuilmore, Claremorris, last September, that an appeal was lodged and is still pending; that claimant transferred her interest in her holding to her son last July and complied with the requirements of the Old Age Pensions Act, 1932, and if he will state when the appeal will be dealt with.

An appeal was received on the 4th ultimo against the proposed grant of an old age pension of 10/- a week by the Ballindine Old Age Pension Sub-Committee. No comment can be made at present as to the eligibility of the claimant. The case will receive attention in due course.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that Mrs. Bridget Morley, Bekan, Claremorris, was granted an old age pension at the rate of 10/- per week by the Ballyhaunis Sub-Committee on January 31st, 1933; that an appeal was taken against the Committee's decision in February last by the Pensions Officer; that same is still pending, and if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal.
