Dr. Ryan

I propose to reply to these two questions together. The information sought by the Deputy as to the total quantity and value of the exports to Great Britain and Northern Ireland of the commodities mentioned will be circulated with the Official Report. That part of the questions relating to the amount of the bounties on these exports should be addressed to the Minister for Agriculture.

DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE

(Statistics Branch),

LOWER CASTLE YARD (SOUTH), DUBLIN.

Does the Minister suggest that I shall have to put down this question again next week, addressed to him?

Dr. Ryan

I am now speaking for the Minister for Industry and Commerce. The question should be addressed to the Minister for Agriculture.

Are the Ministries in such watertight compartments that this question cannot be passed from one to the other, and is that an explanation of the economic confusion into which the country has been driven?
