Vol. 53 No. 12

Shannon Fisheries Bill, 1934—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an act to make provision for the management of the fisheries of the River Shannon by the Electricity Supply Board and for that purpose to provide for the payment of compensation in respect of such fisheries by the said board and the acquisition or transfer of such fisheries by or to the said board, and to make provision for other matters relating to such management or to such fisheries.—(Minister for Industry and Commerce, Mr. Lemass).

How many Bills are we asked to deal with before the House rises?

No matter how numerous the Bills, only so many as the House can properly deal with will be dealt with.

How many Bills are we asked to deal with before the House rises? I am asking the Minister, through the Chair, to give that information to the House?

When the Order of Business was being regulated the Deputy had an opportunity to raise that issue. It is quite irregular, once the business of the day has been entered on, to re-open the question of the business to be done.

Second Stage fixed for Wednesday, 18th July, 1934.
