Vol. 54 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Claremorris Holdings

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that two holdings of land, in the townland of Ranahard, Cuilmore, Claremorris, from which Messrs. Gibbons and Morley were migrated over 20 years ago by the Congested Districts Board are still undivided, and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to divide these holdings.

The vacated holdings on the C.D.B. (Ruttledge Estate) to which the Deputy refers are let under grazing agreements to other tenants pending the preparation of a comprehensive scheme of resale for the holdings comprised in the townland.

The resale of Congested Districts Board estates such as this is difficult and tedious, but the Land Commission are making a special effort to speed up this work. It is not possible at present to say when the holdings in question will be finally disposed of.
