Vol. 55 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospitals' Sweep Funds.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state (1) when was the last money paid to the Irish hospitals from the Irish Hospitals' Sweep Funds and how much was so paid; (2) what moneys have accured to the date of the last Sweep for the benefit of the hospitals—capital plus interest; (3) when will the next payments be made from the Fund to the Irish hospitals; and (4) if it is the intention of the Minister to apportion some funds from the Sweep accumulations for the founding and maintenance of homes for infirm people on the lines of the Nazareth Home at Mallow.

I shall send the Deputy the information he requires. It is not at present at my disposal; I am however in communication with the National Hospital Trustees with a view to procuring it.

Has the Hospital Commission made any report upon its investigations yet?

When they do make such a report will the Minister have it circulated?

I cannot say that at the moment.
