asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether the instructions issued to the Gárda Síochána regarding the use of arms by them have been modified since it was stated by the Chief Superintendent at the Naas District Court, on the 23rd of May last, that these instructions were that if arms were produced by the Gárda they were to use them, and use them with deadly effect; and, if so, if he will state what modifications in the instructions have been made, and whether these have been circulated to all ranks of the Gárda.
