asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can state the number of persons normally employed in the building trades (setting out separately for each craft and for builders' labourers) who were registered as unemployed at each of the following dates, i.e., 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October, 1934, and 1st January, 1935, or the nearest dates for which figures are available.

The information which the Deputy desires is not available for all the dates specified, but I am circulating with the Official Report a table containing figures for the 1st January, 1934; 3rd April, 1934; 2nd July, 1934; 7th October, 1934, and 7th January, 1935.
Total number of persons in each occupation in the Building Trade Group, on the Registers of Saorstát Employment Exchanges and Branch Offices on the dates specified.
