I understand that this project has been a matter of considerable local interest, but no specific proposals have reached me, and it is not clear that the work would have a direct bearing on the functions of my Department. Perhaps the Deputy would be well advised to ask the promoters of the scheme to bring it before the Inter-Departmental Committee on Public Works.
