Vol. 56 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Accommodation in County Kerry.

asked the Minister for Education whether a memorial from the Fenit School Committee was received in his Department over a year ago; whether he has given consideration to the matter raised in the memorial, namely, the erection of a new school at Fenit; whether he is aware that the matter has become now more urgent owing to the erection of eight new houses in Fenit and the increase of the school-going population by ten, and whether, in view of the foregoing and the dilapidated condition of the existing schools at Chapeltown, he will arrange that no further delay will occur in providing a school in Fenit.

The answers to the first and second parts of the question are in the affirmative. In regard to the third part it has recently been represented that new houses have been erected in Fenit and that the school-going population has increased. In the light of this fact I am having the whole matter reinvestigated.
