asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why the Confirmation Order for the Limerick Borough Council, Slum Clearance Scheme, has not been issued, and if he is aware that, pending the Clearance Order, the slum dwellers in Palmerstown and Parnell Street districts cannot be transferred to the Island Field houses, and if he will state when the Order will be issued.

It was not possible to issue the confirming orders pending consideration of the evidence tendered at the inquiry held into the Limerick County Borough (Ladies Lane Area) Clearance No. 1 Order, 1935, and the Limerick County Borough (Palmerstown Area) Clearance No. 2 Order, 1935. The necessary confirming Orders will issue at an early date. I understand that as soon as the Orders become operative the City Manager will arrange for the immediate transfer of the tenants to the houses on the Island Field site.
