It is regretted that it is not possible from the records available to furnish the information asked for by the Deputy.
Can the Parliamentary Secretary say if he hopes to be able to supply this information at a later date?
I cannot undertake to supply the information at a later date inasmuch as we have no returns in our Department covering the information that the Deputy seeks. We have returns of the number actually in receipt of home assistance, but they are not segregated into urban and rural areas.
Could the Minister supply the information for the areas combined?
Yes, I could give the number of persons in receipt of home assistance in each county. It might safely be assumed that that number would correspond to the number of vouchers, but we have not any return in our Department as to the actual number issued. Every person in receipt of home assistance presumably gets a beef voucher.
Will the Parliamentary Secretary supply that information?
Yes.
