Vol. 59 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Activities in Gaeltacht.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the temporary inspectors appointed to undertake a survey of industrial activities in the Gaeltacht have completed the work for which they were appointed; whether he can indicate the extent of the survey undertaken, and the nature of the development in the organisation of Gaeltacht industries arising from it; whether he will state the total cost of the survey up to the latest date for which the information is available, and if it is intended to publish or otherwise make available for Deputies the report or reports prepared by the temporary inspectors.

The work for which the temporary inspectors in question were appointed has been completed, the total cost being approximately £1,400. As the report of the inspectors was required solely for the information and guidance of Ministers in dealing with the problem of the Gaeltacht it is not proposed to indicate the nature of the recommendations made nor any developments which may have arisen thereout.
