The suggestion contained in the Deputy's question was considered very carefully when the first quota orders were being drafted but was rejected because of its impracticability. Experience has shown that this decision was justified.
For the guidance of importers, however, I am arranging to have a brief description of the goods to which particular quota orders apply stamped on all statutory forms issued from the Department in connection with applications for licences, and I am satisfied that this action will remove any possible causes of confusion.
