Vol. 61 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Withdrawal of Wexford Notices.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state why formal notification of the withdrawal of notices of intention to acquire lands in South Wexford had not been issued to those land holders whom his inspectors had called on and informed that the notices issued to them were being withdrawn and if he will undertake that these people will be formally notified to this effect.

The persons who appear to be the owners of the following estates have, respectively, been notified pursuant to the provisions of Section 23, Land Act, 1927, of the decision of the Land Commission not to proceed to acquire the lands inspected thereon:—William and Kate Tanner, Reps. I.I. Tanner, Boxwell, Boxwell (Minor), W. and E. Devereux, J. Murphy. They had all been already informed that the notices of intention to acquire had been issued in error and that the intention of the Land Commission was merely to inspect the lands.

That reply is not satisfactory. They have been told by inspectors but they have not got it in writing and they are not satisfied.

I think the Deputy did not grasp my reply. They have got it in writing.

If so, they got it to-day. They had not got it yesterday.

We "put the wind up them" in Wexford.

This is not a matter about which a storm should be raised.
