Vol. 65 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyragget (County Kilkenny) Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether the requisite plans have been prepared in connection with the water supply scheme for Ballyragget, County Kilkenny; and, if not, whether, in view of the urgency of the matter and of the danger of infection from the present water supply, steps will be taken to have the scheme expedited.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. It is understood that the preparation of a scheme is being attended to by the county engineer. The local authority is being requested to have the matter expedited.

Arising out of the Parliamentary Secretary's reply, might I refer him to my question of the 23rd June last on the same subject, when I was informed that the Department were asking the board to lodge the plans, and might I point out to the Parliamentary Secretary that it is now the month of February, 1937, and can he give me an assurance that these plans will be obtained from the board without further delay?

As the Deputy realises, the cause of the delay rests with the local authority, and they are being pressed to have the matter expedited. That is the most I can say in the matter.
