asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state when he intends to bring before the Dáil the proposals for comprehensive legislation in reference to inland fisheries, promised by him in the Dáil on the 23rd July, 1935, and if he will state what is the cause of the delay in bringing them forward.

The proposals for legislation are in an advanced state of preparation, but it is not yet possible to forecast the date on which the Bill will be introduced. A good deal of time has necessarily to be given to the consideration of the proposals which involve important issues. There has, however, been no unnecessary delay in dealing with them.
