Vol. 65 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Veterinary Surgeons in County Kilkenny.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that the Commissioner administering the affairs of Kilkenny County Board of Health has agreed, subject to sanction, to fix the salaries of veterinary surgeons in the functional area of the board of health on the following basis, i.e., for those surgeons in major districts £125 per annum and for those in minor areas £100 per annum; whether in view of the low salaries paid to these officers hitherto he will take steps to have sanction for the new salary scales conveyed to the Commissioner without delay.

No application for approval of an alteration in the salaries of the veterinary inspectors has, so far, been received in the Department.
