Vol. 66 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Clare Farm.

Mr. Hogan

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if representations have been made, over a number of years, to the Irish Land Commission for the acquisition and distribution of the Howard farm at Drumcliffe, Ennis, County Clare; and if, in consideration of the large number of landless men and uneconomic land holders in the district, he will take the necessary decision to acquire and distribute the farm at an early date.

Mr. Boland

The lands referred to appear to be the holding of Patrick J. Howard, in the townland of Drumcliffe, on the estate of Colonel W. A. Scott, County Clare, which is the subject of proceedings under the Land Act, 1923. Representations have been made to the Land Commission for the resumption and distribution of the holding and the question of resumption is noted for consideration.

Mr. Hogan

Can the Minister give any idea when a decision will be reached?

Mr. Boland

I cannot.
