Vol. 66 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Subsidies.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he had yet arrived at a decision in connection with the representations made to him by the Council of Municipal Councils, that subsidies should be paid to local authorities on houses costing over £300.

The position is the same as indicated in the reply to the Deputy on the 24th February last.

In view of the fact that local authorities are very much perturbed by the fact that building costs are increasing rapidly, could the Parliamentary Secretary give any information as to when we may expect a decision on this important matter?

I could not give any indication. The matter is being considered.
