I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £12,315 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1938, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Oifig an Ard-Scrúdóra (Uimh. 1 de 1923), maraon le hOifig Iniúchóireachta an Arachais Náisiúnta.

That a sum not exceeding £12,315 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1938, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor-General (No. 1 of 1923), including the National Insurance Audit Office.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance (Mr. Flinn)

The provision for 1937-38 of £18,315 shows an increase of £1,943 on the figure for last year. This increase is due to the necessity for additional staff in the Comptroller and Auditor-General's office to deal with the increased work arising out of the general expansion in other Government Departments.
