Vol. 66 No. 4

Committee on Finance. - Vote 12—State Laboratory.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £5,130 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1938, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí na Saotharlainne Stáit.

That a sum not exceeding £5,130 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1938, for the Salaries and Expenses of the State Laboratory.

Provision for 1937-38 is £7,700, being an increase purely casual of £340 on the provision for 1936-37. The State Laboratory is a very necessary institution which does a lot of useful work for the various Departments of State. I may mention that in the year 1936-37 they analysed 42,487 samples for State Departments. I do not think that the Vote needs any special introduction.
