Vol. 66 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Tipperary Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the estate of Mrs. Power Lawlor, Templetuohy, County Tipperary, which is a freehold, has been sold to private individuals by private treaty while there are from 18 to 20 families in the village of Templetuohy who have no land, and if he will see that the Land Commission will take over this estate for division amongst the deserving applicants.

Mr. Boland

The question appears to refer to the estate of Mrs. Stella Power Lawlor, lands of Longorchard, and Derryville, County Tipperary. The Land Commission had an inspection made of the lands in this matter, and it was ascertained that portions of the lands of Longorchard had been sold privately in 12 lots. A separate inspection has been made of each portion sold, and a further inspection has been made of the lands remaining in possession of Mrs. Power Lawlor, and the question of the acquisition of all the lands is at present under consideration.
