Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air Mails to Isle of Man.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the total weight of mails carried by air between the Irish Free State and the Isle of Man and in the reverse direction this year, and the amount paid to the aircraft operating company for this work.

During the period 1st July to 31st August letters and postcards for the Isle of Man were forwarded each weekday by air from Baldonnel. The total weight of mails so conveyed was 240 lbs. approximately, and the amount paid to the air company by which the service was performed was £2.

Mails were not conveyed by air from the Isle of Man to this country.
