Vol. 69 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Creameries Controlled by Dairy Disposals Board.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will supply detailed accounts in respect of each creamery, which has come under the control of the Dairy Disposals Board through the operation of the Creamery Act, 1928; and if he will order the Dairy Disposals Board to publish an annual balance sheet in the future in respect of each creamery controlled by them.

I am not prepared to assent to the suggestions contained in the question. Certain particulars are given annually as to operations of the Dairy Disposals Company in the report of the Comptroller and Auditor-General which accompanies the Appropriation Accounts and in the appendix to the report on these accounts furnished to this House by the Public Accounts Committee.

Does not the Minister think it unfair that these creameries should not have an annual balance sheet the same as any other creamery, or are the Dairy Disposals Board privileged in that way?

They do not claim any privilege.
