Vol. 70 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is proposed to acquire for division the lands of Haskins, Newhill, Littleton, Thurles, County Tipperary, known as the Braddell Estate, for division amongst small holders and landless men in the district.

Mr. Boland

There are no proceedings before the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Newhill, Littleton, on the Braddell Estate. The Land Commission instituted proceedings some years ago for the acquisition of these lands, but the owner objected to acquisition, and her objection was heard by the Land Commission and allowed.

Is the Minister aware that those lands, which were then residential, are now non-residential?

Mr. Boland

I will have the question examined. There are no proceedings at present before the Land Commission. This lady's objection was heard and allowed. Perhaps a further inspection will be necessary.
