A sum of approximately £170,000 was spent by the Commissioners of Public Works during the financial year 1937-38 on the provision and establishment of the Shannon and Dublin airports. In addition, the Department of Industry and Commerce spent £38,900 on the acquisition of lands for the same purpose, and the Department of Posts and Telegraphs spent £29,100 on the Allied Radio Services, a total of £238,000. These figures are subject to adjustment.
